Overview

In 1994, nearly a hundred university leaders, scholars of scientific research, and executives from industry convened at Stanford University to examine the nature and significance of developments in university-industry research relationships over the previous 15 years. The conference focused on chartering the quantitative and qualitative features of university-industry research collaborations in science and technology. Topics included expectations and realities in university-industry relationships; recent developments in technology transfer and research cooperation; international comparisons of the organization of university-industry research collaborations; and goals and performance measures of university-industry research efforts.
